Grand Slam For White

Star of the card honours for Sunday’s 12-race program at Truro Raceway went to 26-year-old trainer Nick White, who won one-third of the evening’s races

Kicking off White’s four-win night, veteran pacer G M Champs King was a wire-to-wire winner in 2:03.1 in the fourth race with Robert Laffin in the bike.

Next up was Jack Pich, driven by Kirk Parris, who nosed out longshot Milly Camtana and driver Greg Munro to win the seventh race in 2:01.4. Race Me Volcano front-stepped his way to a 1:59.3 victory to give White back-to-back wins with Earnest Laffin driving.

Finally, Ny Lotto and Hilliard Graves gave White the grand slam with a 2:00.2 victory in 10th race.

White’s win totals climbed to 41 for the year and 175 lifetime while his earnings jumped to $45,754 for 2010 and $169,680 overall.
