Returning from New Jersey, Dreamfair Eternal survived a first-over trip to win the featured $44,000 Open Pace Friday night over a wet track, which was downgraded to sloppy over the course of the night

With regular reinsman Tony Kerwood in the bike, Roses Are Red Stakes champion Dreamfair Eternal tucked into the four-hole after a post four start as To Helen Back (Mike Saftic) fired off the gate just to her right. Kerwood made his move angling Dreamfair Eternal to the outside past the :26.4 first quarter pole and advanced through a :57.1 half. The five-year-old daughter of Camluck-J Cs Nathalie laid on the pressure past the 1:25.4 three-quarters mark and those two battled down the lane. Dreamfair Eternal, however, used a :26.4 final frame to push ahead in deep stretch for the one and a half length score in 1:52.4.

To Helen Back stayed for second and Miss Scarlett (Rick Zeron) rounded out the top three.

Dreamfair Eternal now sports 11 wins in 20 starts this year bumping her earnings to $444,920 for trainer Pat Fletcher and owners/breeders John and Mary Lamers of Ingersoll, Ont. The winner of 23 races lifetime now sports a bankroll totaling $588,915.
