Samuel Fillion drove three of five winners of the $8,000 Prospect Series Leg 4A divisions for two-year-old trotters of each sex as part of a five-win evening at Georgian Downs on Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Super Green was the headliner for Fillion, winning the fastest of two divisions for colts and geldings. After landing the pocket spot in a :29.3 first panel, Fillion sent the him to the top before a :59.2 half, and the Green Manalishi S-Time After Time gelding split from his foes down the backstretch, reaching three-quarters in 1:29.2 five lengths in front. His margin diminished late, but Super Green was never in danger and coasted home to a three-length victory in 1:59.4. Lifting Legend (Brett MacDonald) was second-best, five lengths in front of show finisher Beach Concert (Ed Hensley).

Super Green has won three straight races for trainer Jean-Francois Maguire, who shares ownership of the gelding with Jean Allaire of Montreal, Que. and G T Stables of Saint-Placide, Que. He paid $2.90 to win.

Fillion also won the other colt division, overseeing a commanding front-end performance by the Maguire-trained Silver Detector ($3.30), who scored by 1-3/4 lengths in 2:00.1. The Alarm Detector-Silver gelding is a homebred for Silver Stables.

Life Is Great ($3.80) completed Fillion’s stakes triple, going gate-to-wire in the second $8,000 filly split in a 1-3/4-length win in 2:03.3. Blake MacIntosh conditions the Resolve-Life Class filly, whom he co-owns with Hutt Racing Stable and Tim Klemencic.

The reinsman’s evening began with a 46-1 upset as he got three-year-old Florida Guy home from post nine. The son of Alarm Detector-Southwind Champane sat seventh through the first half, then went three-wide from far back on the final turn and exploded down the stretch to win by a length in 1:58.4. The colt was making his debut for trainer Katarina Bosnjak and owner Jjs Stables.

Fillion also won the sixth race with Eurobank Hanover ($2.50), who worked to the top in the first quarter and had no issues from there, winning by 3-1/2 lengths under wraps in 1:57.1. Luc Blais trains the Greenshoe-Emmylou Who gelding for Determination.

Fillion added another three tallies to his near-insurmountable lead in the standings, going 16 wins clear of Austin Sorrie with two cards left in the meet. The Montreal native has racked up 239 victories across all tracks this year and is within reach of another 300-win, $2 million season after his career year in 2024.

Da Miracle Maker ($9.40) capitalized on an early break by the favourite and a final-turn miscue by the pacesetter to win the first Prospect Series division for fillies by 9-1/4 lengths in 2:00.2. Eli Wagler owns and trains the Alarm Detector-Da Miracle miss.

The final distaff dash went to Saraquel ($4.10), who rallied from 10 lengths back at the half for Ryan Holliday to win in 2:02.1 with a 2-1/4-length margin. The daughter of Archangel-Just One Day is trained by David Holliday and owned by Grant and Robert Jackson.
