Pacesetter Azure Seelster managed slow fractions on the front in progress to a 1:54.3 victory in the $10,500 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Pace on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Georgian Downs.
Driver Tyler Moore took control with the four-year-old Shadow Play mare while Ride Away Shark, from post 7, secured the pocket heading to a :27.1 opening quarter. The pair continued in that order through a :57 half and 1:25.3 while Azure Seelster hit the finish one-and-a-half lengths better. Ride Away Shark held second from Southwind Ion, who swept wide around horses to take third.
Owned by Les Ecuries Dorleans Inc., Azure Seelster won her sixth race from 26 starts this season and her 14th from 61 overall, earning $193,144. Jacques Dupont conditions the $5.50 winner.
