Trotting star Timoko made his final on-track appearance in France on Saturday night (Aug. 26) and went out on a winning note.

As no trotters older than 10 are allowed to race in France, Timoko's owner-trainer Richard Westerink decided that the prestigious Grand Prix du Departement des Alpes-Maritimes at Cagnes-sur-Mer, would be the horse's last race in that country.

Unbeaten in seven career starts at Hippodrome Côte d'Azur, ten-year-old Timoko improved that record to eight-for-eight. With Björn Goop in the bike, Timoko stopped the clock in 1:51.1 and collected the $96,500 winners share of the $215,000 (180,000 Euro) purse.

With the victory, Timoko went past five million Euros in earnings for his career. Timoko will race next in the Grand Prix Victoria Park at Wolvega in The Netherlands.
