David Gribb of Succasunna, New Jersey walked away with a 2026 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid as the grand prize winner of Meadowlands Racetrack’s Horseplay promotion.
Gribb, a loyal Meadowlands customer, has participated in Horseplay since its inception.
“I love coming here and hanging out with everybody,” Gribb exclaimed after his name was drawn on Friday, Aug. 7. “This is great. Thank you to The Meadowlands for giving the car out.”
Throughout the championship meet, fans trackside tossed horse toys into the window of a moving car. A winner, randomly chosen from all the horses that made it into the car, received a betting voucher and was entered into thre grand prize drawing for the brand new car.
For every horse that made it into the Horseplay car, Meadowlands Racetrack donated $5 USD to the designated monthly charity. For the 2026 season, $4,380 USD was donated to three charities.
The May donation recipient was the Fighting H.A.R.D Foundation, which received $1,390 USD. This 501(c)(3) foundation’s mission is to help those with rare diseases and chronic illnesses by providing emotional, physical and financial support to children and their families.
Trot-Trot Standardbreds was the June Horseplay donation recipient, receiving $910 USD. This 501(c)(3) charity is dedicated to retraining, adopting and promoting Standardbreds in second careers.
HorseSense NJ was the July/August charity recipient. The organization enhances the overall well-being of children, teens and adults with a wide range of physical, mental and emotional challenges through equine-assisted therapeutic riding programs. HorseSense received $2,080 USD from The Meadowlands.
Since 2015, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment has donated more than $80,000 USD to local charities through Horseplay.
