Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action resumes Saturday (Aug. 27) at the Northside Downs oval and all eyes will be on the red-hot Therealprincess.
The three-year-old pacing fillies will face off in Races 4 and 8 for purses of $9,920. Race 4 will see Cougar On A Terr try to extend her win streak to three in a row for driver Donald Gillis and trainer Walter Walker. Tobins Diva (Mark Pezzarello) and Cantstopthelovin (Ryan Campbell) round out the top three-morning line picks.
Race 8 will see Therealprincess, in line to Corey MacPherson, also looking to keep her perfect season intact. The filly has gone behind the gate eight times and has been victorious in all eight starts. With career earnings just shy of $100,000, this filly has been ultra-impressive during the 2022 stakes season. JJ Scarlett (Redmond Doucet) and Woodmere Jazz (Donald Gillis) are the other two favourites in the race.
Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes trotting event and 'A' division pacing event go towards earning a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships. Breeders Crown Weekend takes place October 8 and 9, 2022 at the Red Shores Charlottetown. Updated point standings can be found on the ASBA website.
