Vernon Downs' leading driver John MacDonald continued to dominate at the miracle mile with six consecutive wins on Friday (August 25).
Pop I and MacDonald won the $7,500 featured trot by going gate-to wire and setting all the fractions of :27.4, :57.2, 1:26.1 and 1:55.1. Sweet Ashley T (driven by Homer Hochstetler) finished second and Twice Too Nice (Brett Crawford) came up to get third.
Pop I (sired by Andover Hall) is owned by Glat Kosher Racing and trained by Harry Landy. The seven-year-old paid $5.20 to win. He won for the third time this season and the 27th time in his career.
MacDonald's other wins were with Aerial Flight ($3.70), Miss Ruby ($5.30), Ozymandias ($9), Pinky The Intern ($6.20), and Thundercrest ($6.60).
Live racing resumes at Vernon Downs on Saturday night (August 26) at 6:45 p.m.
