Coming off the WEG circuit, Beach Hero dominated a field of Preferred 3 rivals with a seven-length romp in Wednesday night's $7,500 feature at Grand River Raceway.
Phil Hudon completed a driving double on the program steering Beach Hero wire-to-wire in 1:54 flat for the Waxman brothers -- trainer Isaac and owner Aaron. The 3-5 favourite paid $3.20 to win.
Leaving from post one, Beach Hero too the lead and cruised through fractions of :28, :57.3 and 1:25.2 before drawing off with a :28.3 final frame to seal the deal. Canadian Edition was flushed first over and held off the wide-rallying Button Up for the runner-up honours.
The five-year-old Jennas Beach Boy gelding, who is now eight-for-30 on the year, notched his 15th career win and went over the $100,000 mark in purse earnings.
