Some try to downplay the importance of showcasing horse racing at exhibitions, but when potential new customers find themselves face-to-face with the live product, it is hard to deny its impact

.

According to a report by the Truro Daily News, Robbie Heukshorst had never seen a live horse race until he was exposed to some races on Day 3 of the Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition at Truro Raceway.

"I come every year to the exhibition and they never used to have harness racing," Robbie Heukshorst was quoted as saying.

He went on to say, "I know nothing about harness racing ... I thought they only went around the track once."
