'Cailloux' Completes Campbell Hat Trick

Emmys Cailloux provided driver Joseph Campbell with his third straight win on Inverness Raceway’s nine-race Wednesday program in the $900 Open Pace

The five-year-old son of Blissfull Hall-Kendraandemily tucked into the three-hole behind Wood Island (Alex MacQuarrie) and pacesetter Shifty Shadow (Edgar Jacobs) in the eighth race feature and waited patiently through panels of :30, 1:02 and 1:33.1 before launching his attack. Emmys Cailloux unleashed a :28.1 final frame, which catapulted him to a first-place finish in the five-horse affair. The bay stopped the clock in 2:02 finishing a half-length ahead of Wood Island while Shifty Shadow settled for show.

Frank Trenholm trains and owns the winner with George Cameron of Port Hood, N.S. For Emmys Cailloux, the victory was his fourth of the season in 20 outings and 14th of his career pushing he bankroll to $39,401.
