Vernon Downs will host a $110,100 New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) leg for two-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday (Aug. 27).
A full field of nine is led by the 2-1 morning line favourite Vivians Dream (Jordon Stratton). Cory Mumford trains the filly by American Ideal-Sports Chic. She has five wins in six starts this season with NYSS wins at Saratoga, Tioga, Monticello, Buffalo and Batavia. She has already won more than $150,000 in her career.
Twin B Joe Fresh (Jason Bartlett) is the 5-2 second choice. The filly by Roll With Joe-Fresh Breeze is trained by Chris Ryder. She has four wins in five starts including NYSS wins at Tioga and Saratoga. She was won more than $135,000 in her career.
The Brett Pelling-trained Earthwindfire (Jack Pelling) is the 4-1 third choice and she should be a major player as well. The filly by American Ideal-Road Bet will meet Vivians Dream for the third time this season. Earthwindfire lost narrowly to Vivians Dream in a NYSS race at Tioga Downs (July 15). The filly got her revenge when she came charging late to edge Vivians Dream in a NYSS win at Yonkers (Aug. 2). She also got a NYSS win at Monticello.
The 13-race card starts at 6:05 p.m.
