Linda Toscano trainee Heart Of Mine lowered a Saratoga Casino Hotel track record on Monday (August 24), as the two-year-old pacing filly notched a 1:53.2 victory in her $70,300 division of the New York Sire Stakes.
Heart Of Mine (Roll With Joe-Acquavella) sat third in her tilt before powering up and passing her rivals around the final turn. She went on to draw away from her foes impressively in what was a maiden-breaking performance. Jim Marohn Jr. piloted the now record-setting juvenile filly that is owned by Fred Wallace, Bay’s Stb, Radio Rcg Stb and Camelot Stb. The previous track record for two-year-old pacing fillies belonged to So Awesome, who in 2018 scored a stakes victory in 1:53.3.

The afternoon program was dominated by Marohn, who also sat behind the winner of the other $70,300 NYSS tilt. Marohn guided Test Of Faith (Art Major-Cannae Cammie) to a coast-to-coast win. Brett Pelling trains Test Of Faith, who scored decisively in 1:53.4, which gave Marohn a sweep of the co-featured NYSS races. Test Of Faith, who was backed to odds of 1-9, pushed her career earnings to over the $145,000 mark in just five starts for owners Melvin Segal, Eddie Gran and Kentuckiana Racing Stable.
