$100,000 Cane Pace Elim Drawn

Pacing’s Triple Crown season will kick off Saturday at Freehold Raceway with a $100,000 elim

ination for the Cane Pace.

Eleven names were dropped in the entry box, but eight will be in the elimination. First-race post time will be 12:30 p.m.

Under the conditions of the race, when 11 are entered, the top three money earners for the current season are given byes directly into the $300,000 final, which will take place on Labour Day.

Trainers Ray Schnittker, George Berkner and George Teague, Jr. were given byes with their charges, One More Laugh, BGs Folly and Delmarvalous.

The field for the elimination is headed by Im Gorgeous, who is trained and partly owned by George Teague, Jr. along with Elmer Finn of Delaware.

Im Gorgeous, who most recently won the consolation of the Battle of Brandywine in a sharp 1:50:4, will have Andy Miller driving in a return engagement.
