Two-Year Ban For Small Down Under

According to a report by stuff.co.nz, Harness Racing New South Wales has handed trainer Geoff Small a two-year ban from racing after the conditioner plead guilty to presenting his star pacer Changeover to race with a prohibited substance.

The substance in question was tranexamic acid. The positive occurred April 26 at Menangle Park Paceway where the horse won the Group 1 Len Smith Mile.

According to the report, Small told the three-person HRNSW panel that the substance was prescribed by a New Zealand vet and was used for therapeutic purposes rather than performance-enhancing.
