It has been reported that a pari-mutuel clerk was arrested last week after his till was short almost $12,000. It is alleged that the clerk was betting on races with money from his till while he was on the job.
News of the arrest and ultimate arraignment comes courtesy of an article by news10.com. The piece states that Vito Vivona, who works with the New York Racing Association, was arrested three days after the alleged incident, which took place on August 15.
It is alleged that Vivona, 49, placed the ‘numerous’ wagers during a four-hour period during his shift.
Vivona’s arrest came after an investigator with NYRA determined that he made $11,700 worth of wagers with funds from his till during the time in question.
