Three-year-old pacing colt Son Of Rocknroll returned to his winning ways in his home province of Newfoundland following three Old Home Week races in Charlottetown, P.E.I. and was victorious in his first start at the Preferred level at St. John's Racing and Entertainment Centre on Saturday.

The class-climbing sophomore Son Of Rocknroll trailed the five-horse field in the $535 Preferred Handicap for most of the mile before sweeping past his rivals in the stretch to prevail by half a length in 2:06 over a 'good' track for local horseman Daniel Williams.

The son of Rocknroll Hanover is undefeated in five starts in Goulds, Newfoundland this year.

Scott Forward trainees Inspired Art (Scott Forward), Dustylane Wildbill (Brad Forward) and Go With It (Shane Forward) finished second through fourth with the winner's stablemate Quickcam (Aubrey Williams) completing the field in fifth.
