Aldrich Wins Five

The battle for driving supremacy at Monticello Raceway between Bruce Aldrich, Jr. and Zeke Parker continues, and probably will, right down to the finish of the season on December 29.

On Monday, August 22, Aldrich reined five winners on the card, as he scored with Giant T (1:59:1), Blue Creek Angie (1:57:3), Fly Italia (1:59:1), Edies Desire (1:57:2) and Moonlit Tori (2:00:1).

Parker had three wins of his own, as he recorded victories with JM Dancing Star (1:56:3), BJs Aurora (2:00:3) and May Knight (1:58:2).

“I had a great day again today but I can’t shake Zeke,” Aldrich said. “I win five … he wins three. I gained a few, but to get the best of him on the racetrack is not an easy thing to do. Age makes no difference to Zeke … he just keeps driving winners.”

Early in the season Aldrich had opened a big lead on Parker only to see Zeke battle back and draw even. Then, with a hot hand, Parker vaulted to the front and opened a 30-win lead on Aldrich. But when it looked like Parker was again going to run away with another 'Mighty M' driving championship, Aldrich has closed the gap and has again made a race of it.

Parker still has command of the leaderboard, but his once 30-race lead has evaporated down to just six, as he has 242 wins to Aldrich’s 236 as of August 22.
