PJs Dream parlayed a pair of moves to help her overcome post eight and capture the co-feature on Thursday, Aug. 22, a $16,301 Filly & Mare Conditioned Trot, at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Aaron Merriman hustled PJs Dream from the gate and into a seat fifth. But the three-year-old daughter of Greenshoe-Dream Baby Dream wasn’t settled long, as she moved first over to collar the leader, Wibs Warrior, and roll home decisively in a career-best 1:55.1. Vickis Moni closed well for second, beaten 3-3/4 lengths, with Mon Amie Martine third.
Richard Perfido trains PJs Dream for Dr. Scott Leaf, Dr. Michael Ternisky and Gerald Fielding.
In Thursday’s companion feature, a $16,301 filly and mare conditioned pace, Four Wide N Flyin used a second-over trip to triumph in 1:53. Dave Palone piloted the four-year-old mare for trainer Nathan Bresnahan and owners Michael and Rachel Bresnahan.
Hunter Myers and Palone each fashioned a three-bagger on the 13-race card.
Friday’s card at The Meadows features a pair of stakes for freshman filly pacers: a $178,632 USD Pennsylvania Sires Stake split over two divisions and an $80,000 PA Stallion Series event with four dashes on tap. On the wagering front, the program offers a $1,268.17 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (race 4). First post is 5:10 p.m.
