A set of Pop Up Series Finals were contested Monday evening at
Ashlees Delight, who was second in each of her preliminary leg assignments, rallied to a 4-1 upset in the $20,000 affair for distaffers.
In rein to Bob McClure, the 4-1 shot got away fourth and watched Mighty Melissa lay down fractions of :27.1, :56.1 and 1:25. Ashlees Delight commenced her first-over attack on the way to the three-quarter pole, and she then kicked home in :28.4 to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Mighty Melissa in 1:54.4. Maddigal powered home to finish third after experiencing road trouble around the final turn.

Big Ace was a popular winner in the $20,000 final for horse and gelding pacers, and his latest victory extended his winning streak to five-in-a-row.
Travis Cullen got away fifth with the 1-2 favourite while Southwind Bronn hustled the field through fractions of :27.1, :56.5 and 1:26.1. Big Ace edged first-over on the way to the half, and he advanced to be second on the rim as the field travelled into the final quarter of the contest. Big Ace used a :27.2 final frame to win by three-quarters of a length over Southwind Bronn in 1:53.4. Yarm closed from last to finish third in the eight-horse affair.
Mark Winacott trained the five-year-old son of Betterthancheddar-Blazing Flame for Jemaxpo Racing Stable LLC of Wellington, Florida. The gelding, who was claimed last week, was claimed from the winning effort. The victory was his fifth of the season from eight attempts and it was the eighth of his career. The $10,000 payday bumped his lifetime earnings to $41,325.
