Its Huw You Know ($11.60) made every stride a winning one in Wednesday evening's (Aug. 22) featured $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot at Grand River Raceway.
Driver Ed Hensley, who co-owns the six-year-old Holiday Road gelding with trainer Ashleigh Hensley, sent Its Huw You Know away from post 3 strongly to protect the lead from fellow leaver Willyorwonthe (Bill Megens), who broke on approach to the first turn. Uncontested through a :29 first quarter, Its Huw You Know kept at a steady tempo through middle splits of :58.3 and 1:27.2 before drawing off in the final eighth to win comfortably by 3-3/4 lengths in 1:56.4.
Walk The Plank (Paul MacKenzie) pursued from the pocket throughout and held second narrowly over the ground-saving The Power Of Many (Robert Shepherd).
It was the fifth win of the season for Its Huw You Know and the 18th of his career.
