It is not uncommon to hear punters and fellow horsepeople call those in the race bike by many different names. Some can be clever, some can be flattering, and some can be downright inappropriate. Although, if you heard a driver called a 'lawyer' or a 'partner' in a law firm
, you'd probably want to do a double take.
Fifty-four-year-old Sam Caruso, Jr. may battle it out in the courtroom and figuratively slug it out behind closed doors, but it is his yearning for the racing action which brings him back to the track. And, as an article on democratandchronicle.com explains, the best in the biz don't take Caruso's jabs and hooks lightly, either.
"Sam knows what he's doing out there," Dan Dube was quoted as saying in the article.
"You're always a little cautious with [amateur drivers]," pilot Jordan Stratton said in the report, "but when Sam's in a race, it's just like having another driver. Usually people that don't do it for a living aren't that good, but Sam knows what he's doing."
