After the first four races, Georgian Downs was forced to cancel the remainder of the Sunday evening (Aug. 21) program due to heavy rain causing unsafe track conditions.

Prior to the cancellation, a division of the Prospect Series was contested and Promise For Life led a wire-to-wire trip to win in 1:56.1 by five-lengths over Ima Standup Guy (Sylvain Filion). James MacDonald and Promise For Life went to the gate as the bettor's choice. The pair left out of the two-hole to reach the top first. Through fractions of :29, :58.2, and 1:27.1, they trotted the last quarter in :29 to cross the wire in victory. Arch Ruler and Stephen Byron rounded out the triactor.

Rene Dion trains Promise For Life for R A W Equine and S&r Racing Stable Inc. The three-year-old colt is by Royalty For Life and out of the Angus Hall mare Ipromisenottotell. He now has $40,257 in career earnings with four wins lifetime.

Information regarding Sunday's scheduled $100,000 Honourable Earl Rowe Memorial Invitational Trot and Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots leg for three-year-old filly trotters will be shared when available.

Trot Insider has learned that officials will be meeting on Monday (Aug. 22) to determine the best re-scheduling option.

The next live harness racing card is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
