The older trotting mare ranks are about to get a bit deeper with the imminent return of 2015 Breeders Crown champion D One.

Reports from Sweden indicate that the regally-bred daughter of Donato Hanover - Giant Diablo will undergo a veterinary examination on Monday and then head to the U.S. if everything checks out in good order.

In five North American starts last year, D One was victorious in four races -- the Fresh Yankee at The Meadowlands, the Muscle Hill at Vernon Downs, the Allerage Farm Trot at The Red Mile and the Breeders Crown at Woodbine Racetrack. She's trained by Roger Walmann for owner Stall Kenny 23 of Sweden.

Although just one for three this year, trainer Walmann feels the one-mile distance is better suited to his mare and looks for a return the form she showed last year. Her competition is perhaps more fierce this time around, as the division is currently at the mercy of four-year-old Hannelore Hanover -- riding a seven-race win streak.
