All Stakes Card Sunday At The Red Mile

The Kentucky Sires Stakes for two and three-year-old trotters and pacers kicks off at The Red Mile on Sunday night (August 21), with 16 divisions going to post with over a quarter of a million dollars on the line in the opening leg

. First post is 7 p.m.

There were three $15,000 divisions necessary for freshman trotting fillies, making it the largest division, with 29 fillies dropped in the box. Three-year-old filly pacers were the only division needing only one race, with 12 fillies battling it out in one $30,000 event. The other six classes all split into two divisions.

Kentucky sired two and three-year-olds will battle it out for points in the opening leg on Sunday, and in the second leg coming up on Thursday, September 1. The top 10 horses in the point standings for each of the eight divisions after the two nights of racing will return on Sunday, September 11, for the $2 million Kentucky Sired ‘Night of Champions.’ There will be a $250,000 final for the top ten in each of the eight divisions.

As with every Sunday, The Red Mile will offer a $5,000 Guaranteed Pool Pick 4 in Races 6 through 9. Live racing continues at The Red Mile each Thursday, Friday, and Sunday night with a first post of 7 p.m.
