Louis Tomczak Jr.’s Proper One won his fourth straight race Monday at Harrington Raceway in a $11,000 conditioned pace in 1:54.3.
The four-year-old Proper Respect gelding seized the lead immediately after starting gate left and never looked back in his wire-to-wire score for trainer/driver Poliseno, who had a driving triple and training double on the card.
Proper One ($8.60, Carlo Poliseno) achieved his eighth win of the season, none bigger than his win in the $20,000 President’s Cup on Governor’s Day during the Delaware State Fair on July 26 in a lifetime best of 1:52.3. Drivers Mike Cole and Art Stafford, Jr. each also won three races on the program.
One of Stafford’s wins came in the $10,000 sub-feature, with venerable pacer Special T Rocks ($6.60.), who notched his 53rd career win with a 1:51.3 score. The 10-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding put in a dominant performance in his 189th career start for trainer Joe Hundertpfund, Jr. and owner William Sartin and Mark Salerno.
