Insincerity Wins Grand River Preferred

While William Hamm's homebred mare Insincerity was forced to share the winner's circle last time out after a dead-heat victory, the spotlight was all hers on Wednesday night as she went wire-to-wire with her nearest rival nearly three lengths behind in the $7,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Pace featured at Grand River Raceway.

With the inside post advantage, the milestone pursuing Scott Coulter put the five-year-old Rambaran mare on the lead and carved out fractions of :28.1, :57.2 and 1:26.3 en route to the 1:56.3 triumph over the track rated 'good.' Sent postward as the 5-2 second choice in the field scratched down to seven, Insincerity paid $7.40 to win. Rachel Olivia and Private Performanc rallied home from the backfield to finish second and third, respectively.

A 23-time career winner, Insincerity has earned over $150,000 in purses.

West Lorne, Ont. horseman Hamm has enjoyed a perfect month of racing, going four-for-four in August with Insincerity's back-to-back wins and a pair of victories posted by sophomore pacer Grits N Gravy -- all driven by Coulter at the Elora, Ont. oval.

Coulter ended the night with a driving triple, leaving him just one shy of the 4,000 win mark.
