The Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission yesterday stated that there are no licenses currently available to erect a harness racetrack in Johnstown, PA, but that one could be available within days
.
According to an article by The Tribune-Democrat, the bankrupt Centaur Inc. -- which currently holds a racing license and was looking to build the proposed Valley View Downs before abandoning the project and now looking to sell the license -- has requested to get a further two-year extension on its license.
It is reported that the PHRC is under political pressure to not grant the extension.
