Interesting Results From Public NJ Poll

According to an article, a survey by Quinnipiac University survey conveys that voters in New Jersey favour government support of the state horse racing industry and disapprove of its intention to get directly involved with Atlantic City

.

The article cites the survey as stating that 44 per cent of registered voters said the government should not end its involvement with the horse racing industry, while 39 per cent believe that it should.

The survey also found that 46 per cent of registered voters say it’s a bad idea for the state to take over law enforcement and other functions in certain sections of Atlantic City, while 33 per cent say it’s a good idea.

Sixty-nine per cent of voters said that New Jersey should try to revamp Atlantic City as a beach/boardwalk resort. The article quoted poll director Maurice Carroll as saying, “Bring back romantic-enchantic Atlantic City, New Jerseyans say. They want the place to be revived as a beach and boardwalk mecca. But they don’t like the proposed state takeover.”

The article also states that the survey found only slightly more voters support allowing slots at tracks than oppose it.
