Tlb Racing’s Captaincountrystar ($4.20) was a 1:52 winner in the $30,822 Free-For-All Handicap Pace on Monday, Aug. 19 at Harrington Raceway.
Driven by Pat Berry, the Traci Berry trainee charged aggressively for the lead near the half-mile and never looked back in an open-length win over Wehadababyetzaboy and Mack. The triumph was Captaincountrystar's ninth of the year in 22 starts. It marked the second win of the night for the Traci Berry stable and driver Pat Berry, who joined Corey Callahan and Ross Wolfenden with a driving triple.
Callahan, who had two wins for trainer Dylan Davis, steered Mike Casalino and Davis’ Majorca N ($4.60) to a 1:53.2 win in the co-featured $30,822 Mares Free-For-All Handicap Pace. The nine-year-old Art Major mare picked up her fifth win of the year in 15 starts, finishing 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Jody with Misty Coast third.
Later in the card, Louis Tomczak’s Proper One ($13.40) notched his 50th career win for trainer Carlo Poliseno. The 10-year-old Proper Respect gelding was a wire-to-wire winner in a driving rain in an $11,644 conditioned pace with Cody Poliseno in the bike.
Tony Morgan had a driving double.
Live harness racing will continue on Tuesday, Aug. 20 before a Monday through Wednesday schedule will resume starting on Aug. 26 until Oct. 23. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
