Harrah's Philadelphia's Jackpot Hi-5 wager was hit on Wednesday afternoon (August 19) and it yielded a payout of $25,440.50 for one astute horseplayer.
In the afternoon's fifth race, a fourth-level conditioned pace for fillies and mares, 13-1 shot Color Envy (who was driven by Tony Morgan) and 39-1 outsider Skateboard Chic closed from astern to take the top two positions over 1-2 favourite Tall Poppy N. The result keyed a 5-7-3-8-4 combination which returned $25,440.50.
The Jackpot Hi-5 is a 20-cent base wager which occurs in the fifth race every day at Harrah's Philadelphia. The wager offers a low 15 per cent takeout, and the carryover pays out in the event of one unique winning ticket — as was the case on Wednesday.
Racing will return to Harrah's Philadelphia on Thursday (August 20), with post time at 12:25 p.m. Eastern.
