Trot Insider has learned that 2016 Gold Cup & Saucer winner and 2017 trial winner Ys Lotus will be scratched from Saturday night's final.

Allard regrettably reports that the horse will be scratched sick from the Gold Cup & Saucer, slated for its traditional end of day post time at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

"He can't race with a 102.2 temperature," Allard posted on Facebook. "Good luck to the rest of the starters in there."

On Monday, Ys Lotus surged from off the pace late in his mile to get up and record a neck victory in 1:52.4. The If I Can Dream gelding is Lotus is owned by Yves Sarrazin of La Presentation, Quebec.
