Woodbine Mohawk Park's race office received the supplemental entry of Sabonis to this year’s Canadian Pacing Derby (Grade 1) ahead of the Monday, Aug. 18 noon deadline.

Sabonis is trained by Brett Pelling and owned by Diamond Creek Racing of Wellsville, Pennsylvania and Pelling Racing of Creamridge, New Jersey. The four-year-old son of Tellitlikeitis-Gypsy Bellevue most recently won the Grade 2 Dan Patch at Hoosier Park on Aug. 8. An Indiana-sired star, Sabonis has won 19 of 28 races, including the Carl Milstein Memorial at age three and the Graduate Series final this season in a career-best 1:47.3, and has earned nearly $1.1 million.

The fee to supplement was $40,000.

The entry box for the Canadian Pacing Derby closes on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 10:30 a.m. Eliminations (if necessary) will take place this Saturday, Aug. 20.
