Jett Propelled Soars In Harrington Open

Owner Bob Shahan's Jett Propelled ($15) was a fortuitous winner on Monday, Aug. 18 at Harrington Raceway with a 1:54.3 triumph in the $25,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace.

Sent off at 6-1, Jett Propelled and driver Jason Thompson cut the opening quarter in :27.4 before being covered up by Devilish Dreams (Art Stafford Jr.) to the half in :56.3. Devilish Dreams remained in control to three-quarters in 1:25.4 before Melody Hanover (Ross Wolfenden) stormed first-over to take over turning for home. Jett Propelled moved off the cones to take aim at the new leader when Melody Hanover went off stride in the stretch and allowing Jett Propelled by. Incaseyoudidntknow (Jim Morand) finished second, with Western Secret A (Trae Porter) finishing third.

Trained and bred as well by Bob Shahan, the winning four-year-old daughter of Roddys Bags Again-Jett Away moved beyond $400,000 in career earnings following the win.

On the undercard, Andrew Glassmeyer's Sweet Angel Boy ($3.80) was a 1:52.2 winner in the $20,139 Winners Over Pace with Montrell Teague driving.

Teague, the meet's leading driver, won four races on the card while Thompson had a double.
