Driver Mario Baillargeon sent P L Jill first over past the half and dug into tempo-setter Dream Together through the mile, edging to a neck victory in the final strides of the $75,000 Earl Rowe Memorial Trot at Georgian Downs on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Muscles For Life left for the top but yielded to sit on a helmet as Dream Together overtook command past a :27.2 first quarter. Baillargeon then pulled P L Jill from third moving towards a :56.4 half to race alongside the pacesetter up the backside.
Dream Together and P L Jill sped clear of Muscles For Life heading towards three-quarters in 1:24.1 while Run Director veered three wide to take over third around the final turn but go on a gallop soon after. P L Jill remained alongside Dream Together through the stretch and recouped lost ground around the turn to down Dream Together in the 1:53.1 mile. B Yoyo finished third.
A homebred for Prince Lee Acres co-owned by Jill Coleman and Alan Christensen, P L Jill won her seventh race from 23 starts this season and her 22nd from 82 overall, earning $410,453. Benoit Baillargeon conditions the six-year-old daughter of Kadabra, who returned $9.60 to win.
Preceding the Rowe, Century Farroh pushed past pacesetter Best In Show to take the $156,400 single dash of Ontario Sires Stakes Gold for three-year-old pacing colts.
Driver Sylvain Filion settled the Mach Three colt on Best In Show’s helmet heading to a :26.4 opening quarter while Bronx Seelster sat parked on the leader’s wheel. Bronx Seelster stayed wide and applied minor pressure to Best In Show through a :55 half and by three-quarters in 1:23.1 before retreating in the stretch. Century Farroh slid through the open stretch and fought the odds-on favourite to the finish, sticking a nose in front to win in a 1:51.1 mile. Stag Party, rallying from near last, took third.

Owned by Ratchford Stable Ns, Century Farroh won his ninth race from 11 starts this season and his 13th from 21 overall, earning $510,633. Dr. Ian Moore conditions the $4.10 winner.
