False Advertising earned back-to-back victories in the Open class on the Manitoba Great Western Harness Racing Circuit for the second time this summer for Cory and Betty Manning.
Fresh off a victory in last weekend's $1,800 Open Pace at Killarney, False Advertising circled a field of five pacers in the Sunday feature and opened up four lengths on top to win in 2:03.2 over the "good" track. Fancy Camelot, the early race leader, finished second. Hale Street and Smoky Moon tied for third, marking the second week in a row that Smoky Moon has been involved in a dead-heat; she shared runner-up honours with Fancy Camelot in last Sunday's Open edition.
Cory drives while Betty trains and owns the five-year-old McArdle gelding, who also put together back-to-back wins in mid-July at Glenboro and Holland to start his Manitoba campaign.
Lifetime, False Advertising has won 13 races and over $60,000 in purses.
In other action, when Baylor Out broke his maiden in the Sunday opener, he set a new track record for two-year-old pacing colts. Marc Fillion's homebred Armbro Baylor colt won his third career start by six and a half lengths in 2:10.4.
