The third episode of Ontario Racing Unfiltered was released on Thursday, Aug. 15 and this one has a distinct Standardbred focus.
Episode three takes fans behind the scenes as James MacDonald, Bob McClure and Doug McNair prepare for the biggest night on the Canadian harness racing calendar: the Pepsi North America Cup card at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
"I just really enjoyed it," driver James MacDonald told Trot Insider of the filming process before he had a chance to view the latest episode. "They do a great job, it's very professional. It's a huge team that puts it on and they're really great people to work with.
"It was an exciting season, and I think it's turning out really well. I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes."
MacDonald also indicated that the show is gaining exposure for him and for harness racing outside his normal circles.
"I had people reach out last season from that I haven't heard from in years, saying, 'I just stumbled across this on Crave and it's, like, really cool!'"
The first three episodes are available below. The fourth episode has yet to finish production as the main story arc on the Thoroughbred side — the road to King's Plate — concludes with the 165th running of that prestigious event on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Woodbine Racetrack.
