Malevolent made his first trip to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park a memorable one as he circled up and demolished his foes in Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Wednesday evening during Old Home Week.

In line to trainer Paul Langille, the two-year-old pacing gelding won his $15,480 Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division in a career-best 1:56.2, with a :27.3 closing panel. Sergeant Crowley (Marc Campbell) finished three lengths behind in second with Saulsbrook Rockruf (Brodie MacPhee) third.

Malevolent (Malicious-Lady Kelleigh Anne), a full brother to the Langille-trained two-time Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Malignity, now sits at three wins from as many starts for Nova Scotia owners Debbie Francis and Rosanne Langille.

The win was part of a natural hat trick during the middle portion of the 13-race card for the Langille stable.

Phil My Beer (Shanghai Phil-Hazel) and Marc Campbell landed on top in the other $15,480 'A' division for two-year-old male pacers, stopping the clock in 1:58.2 to break his maiden in his second outing for the Landon Campbell stable and P.E.I. owners Brady Doyle, Ryan MacLeod, Kent MacDonald and Brent Campbell. Like A King (Barrieau) was second ahead of All My Lovin (David Dowling).

The $6,000 'B' divisions were won by Bettim Special Cay (Marc Campbell) in 1:59.2 for trainer Ryder Matthews Rennison, Prince Malicious (Jason Hughes) in 1:56.4 for Ashley Gamester, Starship SLX (David Dowling) in 2:02.3 for Earl Watts and Flamin Fredy (Corey MacPherson) in 1:59.4 for George Rennison.

Marc Campbell had four winners on the program as he continues his lead in the Francis McIsaac Memorial Standings for top driver of Old Home Week.

Live harness racing continues on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. featuring the Atlantic Sires Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies.
