The Control The Moment filly Gimmie A Corona posted the fastest mile of the $7,200 Prospect Series division for two-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday night (Aug. 14) at Georgian Downs.

Fine By Me motored for the front to a :27.2 first quarter while Gimmie A Corona sat fourth and stayed put into a :58.1 half. Driver Jason Ryan then moved Gimmie A Corona off the cones into the backside and marched towards the pacesetter to three-quarters in 1:26.4. And though she lost ground racing wide around the final turn, Gimmie A Corona straightened and quickened for the finish to win in 1:55.2 by 1-1/4 lengths over Fine By Me, with Premier Tess finishing third and Getting Euchred fourth.

Gimmie A Corona is a homebred for owner 83 Racing. She won her second race from four starts and has now banked $8,714 in her career. Meg Crone trains the filly who paid $5 to win.

Autumns Passion waited until past the quarter to move for the lead and never looked back to take the $7,300 other Prospect Series division.

Securing the pocket to a :28 first quarter, driver Scott Young soon circled Autumns Passion for the front and overtook early leader Shine Brighter moving to a :58.2 half. She then endured first-over pressure from Shes Truckin Now to three-quarters in 1:27 but easily turned that rival away to deliver as the odds-on favourite in 1:55.4 by 2-1/2 lengths. Shes Truckin Now held second with Control Alt Delete finishing third and Wiggy taking fourth.

Raphael Bourassa trains Autumns Passion for owner Martin Chouinard. She won her second race from four starts and has now earned $10,300. She paid $2.70 to win.
