Zeke Parker broke out again reining five winners on Tuesday’s 12-race card at Monticello Raceway. It marks the third time in the past two weeks that Parker has won five or more races on a card.

Parker got his day rolling with a 1:55.4 victory with Stanley Indig’s recently claimed Fuguzzi ($3.00) in the second race. It was the second start and second consecutive win for the pacer’s new owner.

Parker then won the third with Mike Carubba’s Model Magnate ($5.60) in 1:57.4.

Win number three came after Parker reined Charles Strukel’s Snuff Box ($17.40) to a head to a victory in a time of 1:57.4 in the seventh race. Then in the eighth race Parker got Bill Demberg’s Southwind Irvin ($5.00) home first in a 1:56 clocking for the pacer’s 13th seasonal victory.

Parker then won the 12th race with Lavs Racing Stables' Ooby Dooby ($5.60) in a time of 1:56.4 making training double for Joe Carubba, who also conditions Model Magnate.

“Speed seemed to be holding up today so I put most of my winners on the front-end,” Parker said at day’s end. “I wasn’t alone either; most of the other winners today were on the front end, too.”

With his five driving victories today Zeke now has 10,751 career wins which ranks him seventh all-time.

And the trainer-driver combination of Pete Pellegrino and Greg Merton just keep winning. Merton, first choice of trainer Pellegrino, guided the Baron Racing Stables’ Arts Day to a 1:56.4 triumph in the sixth race notching the pacer’s eighth consecutive victory and 11th in 22 starts.

Pellegrino also handed the lines to Merton in the 10th race and together they enjoyed a 1:56.2 victory with Kiss My Cam, also owned by the Baron Racing Stable.

Pellegrino is in a dog-fight for top training honours with Gary Messenger. Messenger lead by one victory 78-77.
