Freshman Trotters Headline At Georgian In Prospect Series

Looks Like Amuscle led all freshman trotters on Sunday (Aug. 13) evening at Georgian Downs, posting the fastest time of the Prospect Series in 2:00.2 in the $8,900 division for the young males.

J.R. Plante was at the controls of the Luc Blais trainee as they rocketed off the gate from post five and into the lead. After a :29.4 opening panel, Dontalkaboutbruno (Brett MacDonald) took command to the half in 1:00.3, where Looks Like Amuscle regained the lead. Looks Like Amuscle clocked the three-quarters in 1:30.1 before stepping off to a 2-1/4 length victory in 2:00.2. Poof (Thomas Smith) was second and Nzuri (Paul Walker) rallied late to take third.

Determination owns the gelded son of Lookslikeachpndale as he won his first race in two starts. Looks Like Amuscle paid $4 to win.

In the $8,500 Prospect Series for freshman trotting fillies, Radical Legacy (Travis Cullen) sat fourth as favoured Chaud Holliday (Ryan Holliday) led the field of five through the quarter in :30.3 and half in 1:02.2. A miscue from Had Me A Whiskey (Wayne Henry) allowed Radical Legacy to move into third at the three-quarters in 1:32. Around the final turn, Radical Legacy pulled away from the field to win by 6-1/4 lengths in 2:02. Chaud Holliday took second with Yell It (Tyler Borth) third.

Gregg McNair trains the Muscle Mass daughter, who earned her first win in her debut appearance. Radical Legacy paid $12.80 to win.

In the second $8,500 Prospect Series for freshman trotting fillies, Sandoon (Bruce Richardson) sat third through the quarter in :30.2 and half in 1:01.4 before getting shuffled back to fifth at the three-quarters in 1:33.2 and moving second over behind Cleveland U Bet (Jean-Francois Maguire). Sandoon took big and fast steps down the stretch to make up the distance and the pacesetter for the majority of the mile, Muscle Charm (Cullen), and win by 2-1/4 lengths in 2:04.2. Cleveland U Bet took second with Graceful China (Jason Ryan) third.

Sandoon is trained by John Holding, who co-owns the Lookslikeachpndale filly with Morley Bosomworth as she earned her first win in her first start. She paid $18.60 to win.
