An accident in Friday night's (Aug. 12) final race at Grand River Raceway has landed two drivers in hospital.
The 10th race was declared a 'No Contest' after an accident took place in the first turn when trailing tier starter Hes Got The Money (Tyler Borth) broke stride while racing in fourth place along the pylons and fell. According to officials from Grand River Raceway, the horses involved in the accident are ok and all walked off the track.
Drivers Tyler Borth and Anthony Haughan were assessed on site and transported to hospital for further medical assessment. Tyler Borth will resume activity on Saturday night at Kawartha Downs. Anthony Haughan told Trot Insider that he will be undergoing surgery for a fractured elbow. A time for return has yet to be established.
