After having been hammered down to 30 cents on the dollar at the windows, the Marjorie Dumont-trained and Jean Francois Gagne-driven Tajmeallover ($2.60) raced well from off the pace on Sunday (August 13) at Century Downs. The six-year-old Tajma Hall lass got up to post a one and a quarter-length victory in 1:54.4 in the $9,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace.

After having started from the assigned Post 7, Gagne and his mount were five lengths off the tempo at the :26.4 quarter. The duo did some work and gained some ground in the second quarter, though, as they worked out a second-over towed into contention prior to the :56.2 half.

Tajmeallover was overland in the lead in the third quarter, as she was two lengths the best by the time she clicked off three quarters in 1:25.1.

Tajmeallover was ahead by five lengths at the head of the lane, but she won by just one and one quarter lengths. Nighttraintovegas (driven by Mike Hennessy) had closed well off of Tajmeallover’s cover to finish a respectable second. Watch My Luck (Nathan Sobey) finished third.

Tajmeallover is owned by Jean Francois Gagne (of Wetaskiwin, Alberta), Peter Van Seggelen (Foothills, Alberta), Carl Warnaar (Kelowna, BC) and Tapron Holdings Ltd. (Heritage Pointe, Alberta).

Trainer Rod Hennessy enjoyed a Sunday training triple, scoring with Jk Ellem Enoh ($4), Tap Man ($9) and Thats It ($26.40), who finished in a dead-heat for her win with the Robert Parish-trained Odds Western Three ($3.50), driven by Rod's son Mike. Rod drove Thats It while Mike was aboard the Hennessy stable's first two winners.
