Ellis Park Parks In Mohawk Victory

Parking the mile, Ellis Park gradually advanced to apply pressure to pacesetter P L Idaho before taking the lead into the stretch and kicking away to a length victory as the 6-5 favourite in the $27,000 featured pace Saturday, August 12 at Mohawk Racetrack over pocket-rider Jins Shark, and Champagne Phil, who rallied for third.

An eight-year-old gelding by Rocknroll Hanover from the Cambest mare Roller Cam, Ellis Park scored his third win of the season and his 26th overall, accruing $625,570 in earnings over his career. Owned by David Goodrow Stable, trained by Tony O'Sullivan, and driven by Randy Waples, he paid $4.20 to win.
