Pacer Royal Sir and trotter Bringing Sexy Back both turned in the fastest winning miles of their careers with victories in a pair of Preferreds at Hiawatha Horse Park on Saturday night.

With Lorne House in the sulky, Royal Sir ($12.70) left from post five in the $7,000 Preferred 3 Pace and carved out fractions of :26.3, :55.3, 1:23.3 before opening up more than six lengths on his rivals to win for the 18th time in his career in 1:52.1. The six-year-old son of Royal Art is trained and owned by Keith Cullen of Windsor, Ont.

Driven by Gene Piroski, Bringing Sexy Back ($13.20) established an early three length lead by the :28-second first quarter mark in the matching Preferred 3 Trot and was reeled in by first over Full Volume through middle fractions of :58.1 and 1:27.1. However, the four-year-old Duke Of York gelding kicked away by two lengths again into the stretch and cruised home for the 1:57.2 triumph, his 12th and fastest career win. The Domenico Dicicco trainee is owned and bred by Brad Schweitzer of London, Ont.
