After having not raced a horse at the Meadowlands Racetrack in 17 years, trainer Frank O'Reilly has said that he was over the moon when Slave Dream won the $300,000 Nat Ray this past weekend. The horseman has also said that massive speed could be coming soon
.
According to an article by The Kingston Whig Standard, O'Reilly, who currently resides in Acton, Ont., has gone out and said that if the Quebec-bred gelding heads down to the Red Mile, and if the conditions are right, the five-year-old could break trotting records.
The article cites O'Reilly as saying that with the right conditions Slave Dream could trot a mile in 1:48.
O'Reilly also said that the next target on Slave Dream's schedule is the $170,000 (est.) Frank Ryan Memorial, which is scheduled to take place Sunday, August 29 at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
