Evergreen Hosts Emerald Filly Divisions

Talented fillies from this year’s freshmen class will be on display at Evergreen Park on Wednesday evening, as the half-mile oval plays hosts to a set of $25,000 divisions of the Emerald Filly

.

The divisions, which feature Canadian-owned or sired pacers, will be carded as Races 6 and 8 on the Wednesday evening program which commences at 6 p.m.

The morning line odds maker has installed Brandy Is Dandy as the 2-1 favourite in the opening division. The upcoming assignment will be third to date for the Brandons Cowboy-Napa Hanover miss, who hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer/driver Gerry Hudon. The rookie was a narrowly-beaten runner-up in a conditioned event at Evergreen Park on August 5.

The youngster, was bred by Bill Boden and the Ross Ridge Stables, is co-owned by Boden of Vancouver, BC along with Gerry and Monica Hudon of Edmonton, AB.

Double L Hot Trap, who will look to extend her win streak to three-in-a-row for trainer/driver Keith Clark, is listed as the 6-5 morning line favourite in the second split. The daughter of Ludwigpanbeethoven-One Hat Lady earned a 2:01.1 speed badge at Evergreen Park on July 15, and she followed up that score with a 2:02.1 victory over that oval on August 1.

The homebred is owned by Oronzo and Lillian Panaro of Edmonton, AB. She has banked $5,865 to date.
