One of the fastest sophomore pacers on the Eastern Seaboard will highlight the Friday (Aug. 11) evening program at Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a nine-dash presentation starting at 7 p.m. with Saulsbrook Ian headlining the top event in race eight.

The $3,000 Clarence Farm Services Ltd. Pace has Saulsbrook Ian installed as the morning line favourite from post four for trainer Jamie Smith and owner Red Oak Stakes of Charlottetown. Regular pilot Corey MacPherson is in the driver’s seat for the nine-time winner, who has scored seven wins already in 2023 from just nine starts. The Betterthancheddar three-year-old toured Red Shores Charlottetown in 1:54 flat in his latest start on July 29.

Revenant will loom the danger from post five with Adam Merner at the controls for trainer Melissa Rennie, after Marc Campbell steered him to a 1:53.4 victory on Aug. 7 in Charlottetown.

Avatar J (to be driven by David Dowling) makes his first start from the Jennifer Doyle stable with post three after being claimed his last start by new owner Danny Birt.

Also in the field are Privilege (Paul Langille), Acrobat Hanover (Campbell) and Winter Blast (Jason Hughes).

The "Post Time Picks" like Saulsbrook Ian to win: “Saulsbrook Ian has put together a fantastic season and already has seven wins to his name. Moves to the middle and MacPherson won’t wait long so get ready to see them smiling for the camera.”

Race four is the Pat Murphy Memorial with Hardy Mill Joe the top choice from post one from the Anthony Stymest outfit. Mike McGuigan will drive for owners Hardy Mill Stable and Ken Hardie of Nova Scotia.

Whims Drop Off has rail control in the race five Bob Connelly Memorial with Merner in the seat for trainer Ken Wilkie and owner Carson Wilkie of Stratford, P.E.I.

Selkirk Echo is top choice in the David MacDonald Memorial in race seven for driver Gilles Barrieau, trainer Ron Matheson and owner Selkirk Stable of Belfast, P.E.I.

Race nine is the Neal Moase Memorial Pace with Ashes To Ashes favoured off the rail for driver Barrieau, trainer Matheson and owners Linda Somers, Tracy Conway and Lynn Livingstone.
