The Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission (APHRC) announced on Wednesday, Aug. 10 the appointment of its new Director of Racing.
APHRC Chairman Frank Balcom is pleased to announce and welcome the Commission's newly appointed Director of Racing, Mr. Michael Wilson.
Currently, Wilson is the Manager of Racing Operations for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. In the past, he was the Supervisor of Standardbred Racing for the Ontario Racing Commission.
Wilson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this new position. In addition to his management and supervisory experience he is a qualified senior Standardbred judge, a nationally and internationally known participant in all three racing breeds in Ontario, has trained and managed Standardbred horses in the past, and is an Official and Instructor of the Racing Officials Accreditation Program for the University of Arizona.
Wilson commences his duties as Director of Racing on Sept. 6, 2022.
