Melissa Beckwith earned career training win 2,000 on Saturday (August 7) when Keystone Dakota captured the Winners Over/Open Handicap Pace by a half-length over Quagmire Bluechip in 1:52 at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Beckwith’s husband, Mark, drove the five-year-old pacer.

Beckwith entered the night with 1,998 victories. She got her evening started with a win by RJ Maverick, with her son, Brett, in the sulky. Before the card was completed, she increased her win total to 2,001 when Mark guided Sexy Blue Chip to victory.

Her three wins Saturday pushed her season total to 102. Beckwith has won at least 100 races every year but one beginning in 2011.

Beckwith, the daughter of Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Silverman, got her first training win in 1997. She has won multiple training titles at Saratoga and was the leading trainer at Plainridge Park in 2020.
